The Reader -- Frank Weston Benson
I seem to have lost my voice, so I’ll just share this lovely painting with you today. I love how he captured the sunlight.
I will return … soon, I hope.

Very beautiful, have never seen that painting before so thank you for including it here. I’m your voice will return soon
I love it too, Alannah. Something is weighing on my mind, so I suspect I’ll have a something to blog about soon.
beautiful soothing….thank you. just what i needed right actually.
Looking at your photo, Jennifer, I can picture you in this painting. Glad you liked it.
I see the sunlight reflecting on her hair and her back, umbrella, and her dress. The painting is beautiful and I think you pointed out the most remarkable aspect, his treatment of sunlight. Thank you for sharing.
Until I read your comment, I didn’t think to research this artist. It seems he was famous for his “luminous” paintings, though I guess treatment of light is a common element of Impressionism. Anyway, I am busy reading, though I don’t look nearly as lovely doing it as the woman in this painting.
Hoping the same delicate sunshine fills up your creative well while you take a moment for yourself and breathe.

Thank you, Sweet Karen.
Is that a Kindle she’s holding?
I know your voice will be back in a day or so! It’s missed.
Ha ha, I’m surprised Amazon hasn’t photoshopped a Kindle into this and used it on a commercial. Thank you for saying my voice is missed. Been needing a good laugh, have you?
Just looking at that painting makes me want to grab a blanket and a book, go outside and start reading! So beautiful…
If only I would look as elegant, Lua.
Me too, Linda. Enjoy your quiet time. We’ll be here when you return.
I noticed several of us have gone quiet at the same time. Something in the cyber air?
I’m reading and enjoying it, but railing against those writing RULES again. Or rather against my lack of confidence that made me pay attention to some of them.
Oh how you know how many times I’ve been down that road.
This too shall pass.
I posted something on my blog that might make you smile a wee bit.
