Jalal’s Beach

Here’s a photo of where my character Jalal “lives’. I envisioned his home along a section of the central California coast and in searching the Internet, I discovered this photo taken by Gordon Pierce, which is so perfect, it’s eerie.

Note to my readers: this would be where Jalal descends to the beach to run. Thanks, Gordon, for permisson to use your beautiful photo.

wow, that is amazing! I want to live there with a gorgeous, man-poet who cooks and swims au natural

Love the scene. I wonder if I’d be a more creative writer if I lived at the beach. I kinda doubt it. Who would want to be couped up typing with a view like that beckoning? It would be hard, but I’m sure I could manage it.

Awesome, Linda. It’s always so fun when you can see the place you’ve been “seeing”. I love it. It’s gorgeous. Now, on to finishing your book so I can see the man you’ve been “seeing”. (once you draw him).

  4. I am pleased that you found this photo that approximates a vision for a scene in your book.

The same happens with me in a way. I have found many places during our US travels that look familiar, although I have never visited the specific location.

Visualization is possibly more common than I realized.

  5. Hmm, Cambria, again?
Beautiful and just the way I imagined Jalal’s beach to be. You did a great job describing it!

By the way, the last couple of emails I got of this blog from WordPresss were empty. Just the Ref. but no text. Don’t know if it’s a problem on my side or just a fluke between the connection WordPress and my email.

    • Actually, Christa, the photographer of the top photo said it was taken between Morro Bay and Cayucos, but it looks like Cambria to me too. And the bottom photo was taken at Cambria.

Thanks for letting me know about a potential problem. I’ll subscribe to my blog by email, to see what I get. Actually, I’m not sure I can do that. I’m subscribed, but I don’t think it’s by email. Hmmmm.
