So, I had a little time to work on my novel these past two days. I started with 53, 876 words and ended with 54,266. How is that possible, you ask? Well, it works like this:
Expand scene in chapter six = plus 447 words
Revise two scenes in chapter ten = plus 759 words
Yayyyyyy, I’m up to 55, 082 words!!!! Oh, wait … what’s this? Arrrgh … it’s the scene I moved to an earlier chapter but forgot to delete from its original location.
Delete scene from chapter eleven = minus 816 words
And so on … and so on …
I feel like I’m trying to circle the globe running on a treadmill. Sigh.
Anyone who can use an analogy like your last sentence can’t be doing too bad.

Yeah? Then why today have I stalled in chapter 11 with indecision? I’ve thought of three different ways to get from A to B, all could be good, but I can’t decide which to go with. 😦
