If you’re like me, you probably have a file or notebook filled with short story ideas. From time to time, I open this and read through them hoping more of the story will come to me. Usually, I realize the idea just doesn’t have enough substance to be expanded to a novel or even a true short story length.
Well, this morning I remembered a scene that inspired a story idea and since I’ve been reading what Cathryn Grant writes and calls Cocktail Fiction her work inspired me to try developing this scene into a flash fiction piece. If you’re not familiar with the term, flash fiction usually runs between 300 and 1000 words.
So here’s my first attempt. Let me know if you like it … but don’t encourage me, if you think it sucks because once “It’s alive!” who knows what might happen.
Thanks for the mention, Linda!
