Tagged for 8

Courtesy of Suzanne Conboy-Hill, it’s another round of virtual tag and I’m it. So here are the eight questions and my answers. Game rules say I have to tag five other bloggers. The problem is four of the frequent visitors to this blog are eliminated because Alannah tagged Suzanne who tagged Cathryn and Christi. I don’t think I have five left. Hmmm … let me think while you read my answers.

1. If you could have any superpower, what would you have? Why?

Can I have a dual power? I’d like the ability to teleport—including into the past—and also to be invisible at will. Imagine the possibilities. Not only could I zip to NYC for pizza whenever I had the urge, but I could be a “fly on the wall” anywhere and any time in history.

2. Who is your style icon?

Style? Good grief, I’m supposed to have style?!

3. What is your favorite quote?

Um … well … uh … hmmm …

4. What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?

I think it might be the time my father told me I was without guile like Nathaniel in the Bible. Of course, that’s quite a judgment to live up to—especially as a fiction writer.

5. What playlist/cd is in your CD player/iPod right now?

I’m going to say CD player: Pearl Jam’s Ten and last Pandora station: Melissa Etheridge.

6. Are you a night owl or a morning person?

I almost never see midnight, so I guess that makes me sound like a morning person. However, I hate to be physically active early in the morning. Only my brain wakes up before dawn; it takes my body a few hours to catch up.

7. Do you prefer dogs or cats?

I have only a cat now because my dog died last year. I used to say I was a cat person, but I’m not sure anymore. The cat I have now is a bit demented.

8. What is the meaning behind your blog name

Out of My Mind refers to where my stories come from. I’m aware the psychological meaning does apply quite often.

Well, it wasn’t easy, but among my frequent visitors, I think these are the most likely to play along. I tag :

  1. There you are, a biblical figure who eschews the vagaries of fashion and likes pizza! How’s that boring! As to the morning thing, I guess I’m the absolute opposite; I might have my body up, dressed and pointing forwards but my brain is going nowhere until at least 10 a.m. and it’s had a full complement of protein, carbs, sugar and caffeine, so there!

  2. A dual power? Why didn’t I think of that! I’m like the one who finds the genie lamp and screws up the first 2 wishes.

Poor Jennifer, I tagged her too, but gave her an out, sort of …

  3. Wish I’d thought of being able to teleport back in time. That’s a great one. Like you, I have no style or quote. Pearl Jam’s 10 is epic. Particularly ‘Black’ that makes me cry. I’d like to hear more about this demented cat. Sounds interesting.

I see midnight every night, what I haven’t seen in a long time since I quit my day job is nine o’clock 🙂 (today I woke up at 11 am…ooops but I was up until 4 am)

    1. Unless I’m sick, I can’t sleep in after the sun is up. Even in a blacked out room, my body knows it’s daylight.

Examples: Annie is an indoor cat, but she stalks one door waiting for a chance to slip out, then walks directly to the other door and meows to come in. She’s supremely cantankerous. She will jump on your lap begging to be petted and thirty seconds later bite you. She will drive you crazy meowing to be fed (often in the middle of the night) then walk away while you’re filling her dish.

  4. Sure, I’ll play. Perhaps I’ll post it tomorrow, since I already posted today.

How did I not know that you have a cat?! Awwww!!!! (Uh, *spoiler alert* everyone, I kinda just gave away my are you a cat or dog person answer.)(Then again, if you know me at all, it’s not exactly a spoiler.)

    1. My father never liked cats, but I finally talked him into it when I was fifteen. I’ve had at least one ever since. I don’t mention this one because she’s a brat. I doubt she talks about me much either. 😉
