Tagged for 8

Courtesy of Suzanne Conboy-Hill, it’s another round of virtual tag and I’m it. So here are the eight questions and my answers. Game rules say I have to tag five other bloggers. The problem is four of the frequent visitors to this blog are eliminated because Alannah tagged Suzanne who tagged Cathryn and Christi. I don’t think I have five left. Hmmm … let me think while you read my answers.

1. If you could have any superpower, what would you have? Why?

Can I have a dual power? I’d like the ability to teleport—including into the past—and also to be invisible at will. Imagine the possibilities. Not only could I zip to NYC for pizza whenever I had the urge, but I could be a “fly on the wall” anywhere and any time in history.

2. Who is your style icon?

Style? Good grief, I’m supposed to have style?!

3. What is your favorite quote?

Um … well … uh … hmmm …

4. What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?

I think it might be the time my father told me I was without guile like Nathaniel in the Bible. Of course, that’s quite a judgment to live up to—especially as a fiction writer.

5. What playlist/cd is in your CD player/iPod right now?

I’m going to say CD player: Pearl Jam’s Ten and last Pandora station: Melissa Etheridge.

6. Are you a night owl or a morning person?

I almost never see midnight, so I guess that makes me sound like a morning person. However, I hate to be physically active early in the morning. Only my brain wakes up before dawn; it takes my body a few hours to catch up.

7. Do you prefer dogs or cats?

I have only a cat now because my dog died last year. I used to say I was a cat person, but I’m not sure anymore. The cat I have now is a bit demented.

8. What is the meaning behind your blog name

Out of My Mind refers to where my stories come from. I’m aware the psychological meaning does apply quite often.

Well, it wasn’t easy, but among my frequent visitors, I think these are the most likely to play along. I tag :

  1. As I was reading your post and then saw my name I had that overwhelming feeling of when I was kid and the teacher picked me to answer a question…LOL! It may take me awhile to put together although I have half a day off Wednesday…Hmmm

Linda, I can usually count on you to make me laugh. 🙂

    1. Sorry to surprise you like that, Laura. I guess I should have sent out emails to all my taggees. It’s only 8 questions, I’m sure you will come up with brilliant answers. Always good to know I brightened someone’s day. 😀

  2. If you still need another person, I’ll play. It’s been a while since I posted to my blog.
    Aren’t most cats demented?
Pearl Jam was a pleasant surprise.
And I’m shocked you couldn’t come up with a favorite quote…well, I guess it is hard to pick just one. 🙂

    1. You’re it, Dayner! Thanks.

Well, I know that cats think dogs are demented; I saw the looks this one gave to my dog. Actually, I suppose she found him contemptible for being so anxious to please.

Why were you surprised at Pearl Jam? I’ve been a fan since their first EP.

Yeah, about the quote thing. I often read quotes that blow me away with their profundity … and then I brush them away like a sand mandalla. They shape me in subtle ways, and I know they’re in there rattling around, but I can never call one up when I need it.

Oh, yes, and it’s nice to see you back! 🙂

      1. I guess I would have pegged you for more mellow listening. I love Pearl Jam too. I saw them in concert with The Rolling Stones. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
They played their entire set in a rain storm. They never once complained about the weather. I have no idea how they managed to finished without being electrocuted.

        1. I may have gray hair, but that doesn’t mean I’m mellow. 😀 I have to be in a specific mood for mellow music … and I’m not often. I can’t listen to music at all while I’m writing, which is a LOT of the time, but when I do listen, it’s most always alternative. Or I listen to 80s and 90s hard rock, or Southern rock. And just to keep it interesting, though I’m not a country music fan, I do occasionally enjoy true bluegrass.

  3. If I think all cats are demented and all dogs are spastic, what does that make me? I promise even though I’m not a furry-creature lover, I really do have a heart.

    I love your answers. 🙂
