TeresR-photoTeresa Roman writes contemporary and paranormal romance for adults and young adults.

Her bio says: “If it was possible to be born with a book in her hands, that’s how Teresa Roman would’ve entered this world. Her passion for reading is what inspired her to become a writer. She loves the way stories can take you to another time and place.”

Teresa currently lives in beautiful Sacramento, CA with her husband, three adorable children and a dog named Parker that her son convinced them to adopt. When she’s not at her day job or running around with her kids, you can find her in front of the computer writing, or with her head buried in another book. If you’d like to find out more about her, she can be found at Teresa Roman Writes  where you can also sign up for her newsletter to receive exclusive book release information.

abby_greenwoodAbby Greenwood’s books combine paranormal adventure with murder, mystery, and mayhem … with a healthy dose of humor.

Her bio says: I am originally from Staffordshire in England. I now live in New York after moving here with my husband Ron, almost five years ago. We now live in a wonderful brownstone in Brooklyn with our sixteen year old daughter, Alexandra. I have always wanted to be a writer, and actually penned my first story at the age of ten after devouring books from the time I learned to read. Much to my embarrassment now, my first favourite author was in fact Enid Blyton, but as I approached my teens, I progressed onto the likes of Jackie Collins and Harold Robbins. Dark Hearts, a 2016 Kindle Scout winner!

She says her “Dark Hearts” series of paranormal crime thriller books have consistently hit the top five Amazon paid bestseller lists in Crime Thriller Fiction, and can be read and enjoyed in any order. (Although to get the best from my series read them in order.) You can check out the entire series on my Amazon author page.

Dark Hearts:  LAPD Detective Kate Monroe’s parents are brutally murdered by werewolves, who are now accepted by most as part of mainstream society. She has no choice but to accept them and accept that her attitudes toward them are best kept under wraps.

Kate is strong willed and outspoken – two qualities that often put her at odds with her bosses within the LAPD. There is one thing that Kate lives for, it’s her job. Working as a homicide detective is what she loves. It’s who she is. It defines her.

Someone is killing shifters in the city, and as the body count continues to rise, Kate and Brennan, her new shapeshifter partner, must find a way to work together as the city tears itself apart out of fear and bigotry – the very same things Kate and Brennan are struggling to overcome.

Getting back to work with a GIVEAWAY!

This is one of those times I wish my handwriting were more legible. I’m still dealing with pain from a pinched nerve and can’t sit at my computer for long, but I’m anxious to get back to work on the novel I’d started before I slid down into that slough of despond. It’s also hard to slow my brain down to match the speed of my hand. Still, I’m trying to capture all the brilliant lines my Muse forms.

You’d think by now, I’d remember that no matter how discouraged I get about my writing, something always comes along to push me past that. I told you in my last post how a friend sharing a motivational quote got me started back in the right direction. That was only the beginning.

A couple of days later, I had lunch with another friend, one I consider my writing mentor, who never takes my “I can’t write” moaning seriously. By the end of our time together, I’d grown excited to work again on the next novel that grew from a short story she had once told me was the best I’d written.

Then, over the weekend, a reader who had just finished reading both my books told me how much she enjoyed them. She shared in detail how she’d connected with them personally. It’s incredibly gratifying to know your fictional characters ring true for readers.

Speaking of my books, how about a giveaway? Would you like to be the proud owner of a signed print copy of The Brevity of Roses or An Illusion of Trust? Or maybe you’d like both books? There will be separate drawings for each book. How do you win?

  • To earn one entry in the drawings, leave a comment below telling me which book you’d like—or that you’d like to have your name entered in both drawings.
  • To earn an additional entry, share this post on Facebook. Tag me @lindacassidylewis, so I’ll be sure to see it.
  • To earn an additional entry, share this post on Twitter. Tag me @cassidylewis, so I’ll be sure to see it.
  • If you choose to share it somewhere else, on social media or your blog, leave a comment here to tell me where to find it.

NOTE: This giveaway is open to residents of the U.S. only! The contest will end at 9 pm PST on 15 September, 2013. Winners will be chosen by random.org.

IMPORTANT! You must leave a comment on this post to enter the drawings. Otherwise, if I see you mention it on Facebook or Twitter, I’ll just assume you’re helping me spread the word and DO NOT want to be entered to win a book.

Good luck!
